COMEDY

There are different types of comedy shows.

First is the dramedy.
Second is the pure comedy.
Third is the satire comedy.

I realize my mom gets better faster if
she watches either a dramedy or a pure
comedy, it must be the body manufacturing
dopamine and serotonin, when a person
starts laughing. Examples are the "I Love
Lucy" (old version) and "Shirley Temple".

I chanced upon this dramedy shows, because
a friend lent a DVD original copy. These
shows are not shown on tv anymore
because they are quite old. I thought
it won't evoke my funny bones... but it did!

Satirical comedy like the Griffins will
not make her better because it makes her
think deeply, and I think it triggers cortisol
hormones, which is used during emergency or
what we commonly know as "adrenalin rush."

In the final analysis, when a person is stressed
I think "laughter is the best medicine" (Readers'
Digest monthly article)

I thought dramedy and pure comedy is great
for anti-stress buster
before taking a real hard exam...

oh... and don't forget to study okay.. so you
can easily "A" ce them!

UNIVERSITY PREPARATION

Most incoming fourth year students
are preparing for their university
entrance exams by now.

Some enrolled in review schools,
hoping to get into the best universities in
the country.

The best preparation is day one, when
you started your nursery.

By now, incoming students should
have an embedded
habit of studying and diligence.

The first days of fourth year high school
is one of those things you cannot afford
to miss, as you are already careening towards
university life. A big leap to the adult world...
and an intense preparation for your professional
life.

MAINTAINING GRADES

Studying is a lifetime habit.

It makes you resilient in the face
of adversity.

It makes you brave through the
forces of evil.

It makes you maintain your
balance especially when
the emotions are
running high.

It teaches you how to Love
in the real meaning of the word.

One study technique I learned
is to enjoy learning as it comes along, even
if you don't like the subject, there is always
something there which can be useful when
the time comes.

PROMising

Feb month is fast approaching,
in my country, most High School
students are busy preparing
for their third quarter...

Well, not really, as Feb is known
to be the month of the hearts...
and it is St. Valentine's Day!

St. Valentine is a saint who
defended the young Romans
as they were prohibited to get
married for Rome.

St. Valentine, believed in the sanctity
of marriage, so he defended that
it shouldn't be so. For those
people who have the vocation to marriage
then they have to be blessed.

Third Year and Fourth Year
High School indeed is too
young to get married, but its
good to meet up friends where
you can exchange ideas
and dreams with. Not really
a serious relationship yet, as
there is a long time
to go, before eventually settling down.

Proms is a safe place
where you can meet
up friends, lucky are the girls
and boys who are
invited on this gala night.
It is wholesome place when
the parents and teachers support
and are present in the affair, as
we well know, teenagers will always
be teenagers.

Intelligent and cool
teenagers knew they shouldn't
be taking booze
and heavy alcohol, as they
wouldn't see their invited
guests clearly and would miss the
chance of making great friends which
can really last. On top of that,
you won't look great in your
JS prom pictures.

I enjoyed my own JS Prom,
as my teachers, family
and friends were also present
and they all danced
the night away. If you watch
High School Musical One, the scene
of the dancing of the students,
teachers ....
literally it was like that, of
course with some
dancing steps modified.

We did end it at 12 midnight, as
its good to have a good night sleep at
home tucked with happy dreams.

We usually wear a formal dress,
the gentlemen usually
wear their coat and tie,
some ah..yes their barongs... okay..
they really don't look like people
who are in the "kabaongs.."
okay, but they were really elegant.

Anyways, on top of the
whole organization as the
Juniors and Seniors were busy
working on what specific
attire should be worn, its
good training. Once you hit
the business world, looking
back JS prom is a great avenue
for training in the business world.

I was thankful I had a JS prom.
It taught me how to act
sensibly and intelligently, ofcourse
with my parents and teachers
behind me, guiding me
all the time ( I was just 15 then).

I can't help to say, it was one of my most
memorable days of my life, and
I was grateful for my teachers,
the nuns and my parents who were
there, making it really special.

Despite the JS prom frenzy,
we all managed
to get good grades and
finished our university
courses with flying colors.

CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!!!

Christmas break is one of the most
favorite breaks in the middle of the
academic season even if we have
lots of university work and yes,
papers to write, topics to think about.

Advent Season, exchange gifts, "Simbang Gabi",
and Noche Buena! Kahit choc nut lang (even if its coconut
candies...) Kissing the Babe Jesus at 12midnight!
...it's the Christmas Spirit that counts!

So, writing about study techniques
on Christmas break? Don't be a "jologs" okay?

Most students might say....

Okay "jologs" means in "jurassic" terms
as super "kill joy".

Friends, I am not here to put ice on a blazing
happy Christmas despite economic crunch.
As I have been writing, working and studying...

It is great to be visiting your notes at least
45 minutes a day! So, you won't feel
as if you came from another planet by January2009

HAVE A WONDERFUL AND FUN FUN CHRISTMAS!
Don't forget to jump on New Year's Eve for those
who are dreaming to reach your 5'4 height, okay.....!

I have come across this www.pill4weightloss.com
so you can read the tips on how not to get overweight.
You don't have to buy the natural weight loss pill if
you don't need it, but if you do..ask your mom first.

P.S. For those who have not given there Christmas gifts
to your beloved teachers...or a Christmas card...
Don't forget you still have a chance until
"Three Kings" celebration.

My gifts for my former prof....?....Will be on "Three Kings..."
hopefully if it will still be accepted, if not I will
try giving it on "St. Valentine's day".

AS THIRD QUARTER APPROACHES

As third quarter approaches, many students
are already having goose bumps..Honestly, not
only students but teachers as well.

You see, when a student has not developed
a good foundation in study technique in learning
a subject, the teacher can somehow predict
if her pupil is going to finish the line with flying
colors or a dreaded C-.

Teachers have goose bumps as well, especially
when two or three of your students can't really
make it, as she moves her way through the third
quarter, it's time to act, before the finals comes along.

If you are the student, and if you are really failing, the
best way is consider your options, what makes me don't
like the subject, is it because I don't really like studying?

What study style will work for me?

Will I need help?

Must I close television for the last two weeks
stretch before I hit the chair of the third quarter
examination?

Choices is what makes life really cool.

TRIGONOMETRY TRIGGERS

Trigo has has always been
an exciting part of High School Life.
It either triggers your engineering
hidden talents, or you can just tell
yourself "trigo is not a necessity
in entering heaven..." as one of
my teacher would often say, as some
of my classmates are not trigono-
metrically born.

How to survive a trigo class and get
A+ nevertheless:

1. Look for friends who can
assist you.

My experience started when
I was groping the ropes of Algebra,
I had two best friends, Erlinda who
was good in acting, and Step who was
born to be a walking Algebra, Geometry book.

Step Tan was my coach in Algebra and Geometry class,
which gave me the foundation in my trigo class.

2. We would spend time practicing the
problems every after class under the Talisay
trees or library.
Honestly we were not nerd
geeks, its the thought of staying over summer
in our hot classroom which scares us, so we
would rather do our best and get the best grade
we can muster, just in case we hit low in
some quizzes, we still had buffer.

3. An important study technique is to
love your teacher, and ask your teacher
to explain it again, if you don't get it.

Don't forget to give her a gift on Christmas.
It's a way of saying thank you for all the
trouble.

4. Keep on practicing, understanding the
concepts.

5. Another technique which never fails is
prayer,
especially when your nerves can eat you
up. This study technique really works. My study
technique is to pray a whole decade of the Rosary
before starting up studying Trigo then, and the
night before the exam. I also made sure, before asking
help from the heavens(esp. from Our Lady and my
dear Friend: My Guardian Angel), was I did my part.
It worked for me, I hope it will work for you too.
