PROMising

Feb month is fast approaching,
in my country, most High School
students are busy preparing
for their third quarter...

Well, not really, as Feb is known
to be the month of the hearts...
and it is St. Valentine's Day!

St. Valentine is a saint who
defended the young Romans
as they were prohibited to get
married for Rome.

St. Valentine, believed in the sanctity
of marriage, so he defended that
it shouldn't be so. For those
people who have the vocation to marriage
then they have to be blessed.

Third Year and Fourth Year
High School indeed is too
young to get married, but its
good to meet up friends where
you can exchange ideas
and dreams with. Not really
a serious relationship yet, as
there is a long time
to go, before eventually settling down.

Proms is a safe place
where you can meet
up friends, lucky are the girls
and boys who are
invited on this gala night.
It is wholesome place when
the parents and teachers support
and are present in the affair, as
we well know, teenagers will always
be teenagers.

Intelligent and cool
teenagers knew they shouldn't
be taking booze
and heavy alcohol, as they
wouldn't see their invited
guests clearly and would miss the
chance of making great friends which
can really last. On top of that,
you won't look great in your
JS prom pictures.

I enjoyed my own JS Prom,
as my teachers, family
and friends were also present
and they all danced
the night away. If you watch
High School Musical One, the scene
of the dancing of the students,
teachers ....
literally it was like that, of
course with some
dancing steps modified.

We did end it at 12 midnight, as
its good to have a good night sleep at
home tucked with happy dreams.

We usually wear a formal dress,
the gentlemen usually
wear their coat and tie,
some ah..yes their barongs... okay..
they really don't look like people
who are in the "kabaongs.."
okay, but they were really elegant.

Anyways, on top of the
whole organization as the
Juniors and Seniors were busy
working on what specific
attire should be worn, its
good training. Once you hit
the business world, looking
back JS prom is a great avenue
for training in the business world.

I was thankful I had a JS prom.
It taught me how to act
sensibly and intelligently, ofcourse
with my parents and teachers
behind me, guiding me
all the time ( I was just 15 then).

I can't help to say, it was one of my most
memorable days of my life, and
I was grateful for my teachers,
the nuns and my parents who were
there, making it really special.

Despite the JS prom frenzy,
we all managed
to get good grades and
finished our university
courses with flying colors.
